Purpose

Cost machine embroidery and patches with garments, thread, stabilizer, stitch count, and machine time. It uses the same supplies list, products, and orders as your other studios.

Before you begin

Pick this craft on Start Here so the studio shows in your sidebar.

  1. 1

Add garments and hats on Blanks, and thread, bobbins, stabilizer, and backing on Supplies.

  2. 2

Open the Calculators tab (Stitch Pricing, or Thread & Backing Cost for thread, bobbin, and stabilizer) and enter the design's stitch count and your machine speed to see time per piece and a stitch-based price. Every studio also has Team & Bulk Quote, Price Sheet, Capacity Planner, and Craft Fair Booth Planner.

  3. 3

Add your embroidery machine on the Machines tab with an hourly rate.

  4. 4

On Products & Pricing, price a new product with the Machine Embroidery or Embroidered Patch method: blank, stabilizer and thread supply lines, a machine-time line from the stitch time, and hooping labor.

  5. 5

Save the cost to make to see cost per item, suggested price, and margin on Products & Pricing.

  6. 6

Plan an order from the product on Orders to Make. Your stock changes once, only when you choose Mark as made.

What happens next

Your product has a real cost and price, and your stock stays accurate as you make orders.
