Purpose

Cost coasters, trays, keychains, and resin pieces with epoxy by the ounce, pigments, inclusions, and hardware. It uses the same supplies list, products, and orders as your other studios.

Before you begin

Pick this craft on Start Here so the studio shows in your sidebar.

  1. 1

Add epoxy kits on Supplies in fluid ounces, plus mica, pigments, glitter, inclusions, and hardware. Keychain or other base pieces can go on Blanks.

  2. 2

Open the Calculators tab (Resin Volume, or Flood Coat Coverage for trays, boards, and tabletops) with the mold size to see how much to mix, the Part A and Part B amounts, and resin cost per piece. Every studio also has Team & Bulk Quote, Price Sheet, Capacity Planner, and Craft Fair Booth Planner.

  3. 3

Molds are reusable, so price them as overhead rather than stock.

  4. 4

On Products & Pricing, price a new product with the Resin Casting or Resin Art & Coating method using the ounces per piece from the calculator. Resin 3D printing stays in the 3D Printing studio.

  5. 5

Save the cost to make to see cost per item, suggested price, and margin on Products & Pricing.

  6. 6

Plan an order from the product on Orders to Make. Your stock changes once, only when you choose Mark as made.

What happens next

Your product has a real cost and price, and your stock stays accurate as you make orders.
