Step by step

Cost cold process soap, melt & pour, bath bombs, and scrubs by the batch with a built-in lye calculator. It uses the same supplies list, products, and orders as your other studios.

  1. Add oils, butters, lye, melt & pour base, fragrance, colorants, and wrap on Supplies by weight (ounces or grams).

  2. Open the Calculators tab (Lye Calculator; Mold Batch Size tells you the total oil weight for your mold), enter your oils by weight, superfat, and lye concentration. Double-check any new recipe in a second trusted lye calculator before making it. Every studio also has Team & Bulk Quote, Price Sheet, Capacity Planner, and Craft Fair Booth Planner.

  3. Use the per-bar figures from the calculator as the quantities in your recipe lines.

  4. On Products & Pricing, price a new product with the Cold / Hot Process Soap, Melt & Pour Soap, or Bath Bombs, Salts & Scrubs method, and plan each pour as a batch on the Batches to Make tab.

  5. Save the recipe to see cost per item, suggested price, and margin on Products & Pricing.

  6. Plan an order from the product on Orders to Make. Your stock changes once, only when you choose Mark as made.

What happens next

Your product has a real cost and price, and your stock stays accurate as you make orders.
